rehearsal bouquet

The tradition is to collect all of your bows from your gifts and make a bouquet out of them for your wedding rehearsal, but a lot of my gifts haven't had bows.  And let's be honest... those bow bouquets are just plain ugly.  So my awesome bridesmaid Bethany made this rehearsal bouquet for me out of felt.

hey ribbon bouquet!  There's a new bouquet in town.  Watch your back.

before and after: thrift store find to fancy wedding chalkboard

When I saw this at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, I just had to have it.  I knew I could make something out of it.
 before

One can of chalkboard spray paint and one can of almond spray paint later...

after

check out the detail in the frame.  I can't wait to hang this in our house and write love notes to David on it.  ha!!

rehearsal dinner vases

We are having a Mexican fiesta as our rehearsal dinner and I am trying to keep the cost of decoration for this pretty low.  I wanted to find some vintage tin cans to put paper flowers in, but they are a little more than I want to spend online and I don't have time to go thrifting for them.  So this is what I came up with...

Scrapbook paper glued onto pencil holders!  Less than $10 for 16 vases.

hostess gifts

I've been trying my hand at creative gift wrapping lately... here's my wrapping for hostess gifts for my bridal shower this past weekend...

pom pom flowers as bows... don't you wish you knew what was inside?

slacka...

okay so I've been a blog slacker.  So here's what's been going on in wedding planning world...

I made boutonnieres.

I made little stickers with 2 birds and our wedding date to go on these wooden spoons that David's ice cream (in lieu of groom's cake) will be eaten with.
