before and after: thrift store find to fancy wedding chalkboard

When I saw this at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, I just had to have it. I knew I could make something out of it.

One can of chalkboard spray paint and one can of almond spray paint later...

after

check out the detail in the frame. I can't wait to hang this in our house and write love notes to David on it. ha!!

That turned out really well. I seriously hate the previous ugly gold color, but the almond/creme color looks great. Can't wait to see this at your wedding. :)

About Dave and Al

Dave and Al met in Montgomery, Alabama at a mutual friend's home. Dave was visiting town for the weekend and Al was living there at the time running her own embroidery business. There was an instant connection as Dave charmed Al with his natural good humor and Al enchanted Dave with her nice smile, sassy attitude and retro hat. Dave decided to come back to town the following weekend to take Al to dinner, and they were like two peas in a pod.

Lots of time passed, and their relationship grew stronger. Al moved to Birmingham and made a career change. Then soon after, David made a career change.

Then more time passed...

Then even more time..........

And then just a little more....

Five years, five months, and two days... David finally proposed during one of Al and Dave's runs. Completely shocked and starting to hold on to the notion of eternal dating, Al enthusiastically accepted. Now on to wedding planning for a fantastic life together filled with laughs, smiles, sassiness and retro hats!
